[Quick note on intros and conclusions] For each section you’ll get a quick introduction and conclusion, in text format. Be sure to read those! In the introductions you’ll get an overview of what you’ll do in the section and some tips to help you get the most out of it. In the conclusion I will wrap the new concepts you’ve just learned, and when applicable you’ll be able to download an archive containing the code written during the section. [/Quick note]
In this section, you will set up your environment and install ROS 2.
I will explain:
Which ROS 2 version you should use.
How to setup Ubuntu on a virtual machine, (you can skip that if you already have Ubuntu installed).
Which (non ROS-specific) programming tools I will use during the course, such as which IDE, terminal, etc. This is just so you can follow what I do without any problem, you absolutely don’t have to use the same setup.
How to install ROS 2 + all necessary ROS 2 tools for this course.
There is quite a bit of setup, but after this section you’ll be done with that, and will be able to focus 100% on ROS 2. Note that some installation steps may be quite long. That will depend mostly on your internet connection speed and your computer performance.
Don’t worry, all the steps are quite easy to follow and I will detail everything.
Let’s get started so you can quickly run ROS 2!
