00:00.210 --> 00:06.900
Welcome to this quick tip on how to snap at intervals using the manipulators and Myia, so if I hold

00:06.900 --> 00:08.040
on J that's the hockey.

00:08.040 --> 00:09.810
That's that's the big secret here.

00:10.080 --> 00:17.450
So we'll hold down J then I can get the manipulators to snap at a certain interval, move and rotate.

00:17.770 --> 00:21.090
But let's jump a little deeper and to see how we can control that more.

00:21.660 --> 00:26.760
If I hold down J you can see under the tool settings which you can open over here in the top.

00:26.760 --> 00:29.580
Right, the step snap options.

00:29.580 --> 00:32.310
So it says absolute and one for the move tool.

00:32.310 --> 00:35.670
If I move to the rotate tool says relative.

00:35.670 --> 00:38.690
And 15, if I reset that tool, it will go to absolute.

00:39.090 --> 00:42.060
So the default is probably absolute for you.

00:42.090 --> 00:46.490
And if you want it to move relative, you would have to change it here in the drop down menu.

00:47.010 --> 00:48.680
Now, what's the difference between that?

00:49.080 --> 00:53.910
So if we already have an object that has rotation value, we can see here of thirty eight point four

00:53.910 --> 01:02.670
one five, whatever, and if this is set to absolute, it will snap it to that interval of fifteen of

01:02.670 --> 01:04.200
that absolute value of fifteen.

01:04.560 --> 01:10.710
If we wanted it to start at thirty eight and add fifteen or take away fifteen for every rotation we

01:10.710 --> 01:15.960
do, we need to set the step snap to relative by holding down J and then choosing relative.

01:16.260 --> 01:19.920
It will also remember what the last thing you chose is.

01:19.920 --> 01:22.790
So every time I hit J now it will be relative.

01:23.400 --> 01:25.950
So just remember that's what's going to be happening.

01:26.130 --> 01:30.270
And so as we rotate that we can see it's now adding to the number we already had.

01:30.270 --> 01:31.280
That's what relative means.

01:31.770 --> 01:36.510
Now, the other little quick way to do this, if you don't want to go into the tau settings I've found

01:36.510 --> 01:42.300
and have used recently for making sure cameras are matching the world access.

01:42.660 --> 01:49.440
If I hold down E and I go to Gimble mode and then I hold on E again and go to discrete rotate, it will

01:49.440 --> 01:51.530
do a similar kind of a thing.

01:51.540 --> 01:55.170
Now it's going to it's going to be using whatever steps have options you have here.

01:55.170 --> 01:56.220
So just keep that in mind.

01:56.470 --> 01:57.420
Thanks for watching by.
