The Larson Scanner is an affectionately named special effect created for the popular TV shows Knight Rider and Battelstar Galactica. The creator of these shows was Glen A. Larson.

In both shows, a series of red lights was seen "sweeping" back and forth to create a kind of "electronic eye." You can watch the intro to Knight Rider here and see the light sweep in effect on the car, K.I.T.T.

Your mission: recreate the famous special effect using 8 red LEDs and a shift register.
