Please use the Chess Trainer facility (Click on the link "Chess coordinates and square color training") under external resources) to help practice your understanding of chess board coordinates and colour of squares. For example the bottom left square is a1.  So if it indicates a1, then you would click the bottom left square.

When you click "start training", do not be alarmed there are no chess pieces :) It will show time left, the square to click on, and your current score. Click on the coordinate it is asking. These scores are not recorded whatsoever and it is just for your personal private training. Knowing the square coordinates will help your chess considerably and maximise the ease of learning chess generally. Especially if you also do colour of square training.

You can also switch to colour of squares training with the "Colors" button under the chess board.
